11.  Frozen Glove Reduces Skin and Nail Damage from Docetaxel Chemotherapy
(Posted: 08/01/2005) - Patients who wore an experimental "frozen glove" to keep their hands very cold during intravenous chemotherapy with docetaxel (Taxotere®) had much less subsequent damage to the nails and skin of their hands, according to a study published in the July 1, 2005, issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

12.  Systematic Removal of Retroperitoneal Lymph Nodes Fails to Extend Lives of Patients with Advanced Ovarian Cancer
(Posted: 04/25/2005) - Women with stage III or IV ovarian epithelial cancer who had their aortic and pelvic lymph nodes removed along with all visible cancer from their abdominal cavity failed to live any longer than women who had only the abdominal surgery, according to an article in the April 20, 2005, issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

13.  Docetaxel Plus Carboplatin a Possible Alternative for Ovarian Cancer
(Posted: 11/23/2004) - Patients with ovarian cancer who received treatment using the drug docetaxel (Taxotere®) did as well as patients who received the standard regimen using paclitaxel (Taxol®) and had lower rates of some serious side effects, according to a report in the Nov. 17, 2004, issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

14.  Paclitaxel Plus Platinum Gives Patients with Recurrent Ovarian Cancer More Time
(Posted: 06/25/2003, Reviewed: 03/30/2005) - Women with relapsed ovarian cancer who were treated with both paclitaxel (Taxol®) and a platinum-based drug lived a median of five months longer than those who received a platinum-based drug alone, according to a report in the June 21, 2003, issue of the Lancet.

15.  Fertility Sparing Surgery an Option for Some Ovarian Cancer Patients
(Posted: 04/28/2000, Reviewed: 03/23/2005) - For women diagnosed with early-stage ovarian cancer, removal of one ovary has become a real option. This conservative surgery greatly increases the chances of preserving fertility.
